Overview of Sassandra
Sassandra, a seaside resort is located 283 km west of Abidjan, it seats on the Gulf of Guinea. The city has undeniable tourist potential. Its coastline is made of a series of rocky cliffs, its beaches with white sands and pleasant climate for swimming. The city of Sassandra presents a setting and a paradisiacal frame which would give happiness of any visitor or lover of nature. The city has an airport which makes accessing it easier.
History
Founded by the Portuguese, the city was known as Santo Andre later on it was taken over by the British, after that the French took over and it became a seaport for timber.
