Overview of San Pedro
Located in the Southwest part of Cote d’ivoire, San-Pedro’s port/harbour is the second largest in the country after the port of Abidjan. The city has an airport with flights that connect to the other major cities in Cote d’Ivoire.
The city used to be a small fishing village of 40 inhabitants until 1968, a year after the start of construction of the Port, the city had more than 6,000 inhabitants. The evolution of this population was very rapid because of the large influx of immigrants of all origins (populations from other regions of CĂ´te d’Ivoire, but also those of neighboring countries) wishing to take advantage of the growth of the region.
