Abidjan is considered “the Paris of West Africa”, partly because of the number of shops. There are many international brands, but there is also an important local fashion industry where you can find traditional as well as modern shops, in boutiques of top designers, shops for locally made clothes or if you are adventurous, bargain shopping in the open-air markets. Each town has a shopping centre.
