The name is the name of a former settler, Mr Boulay, who used to own it. It is in fact an archipelago of islands attached to Yopougon.
The archipelago biggest island is ĂŽle Boulay, it is a total of 13 islands: Ossibissa, N’gbossroya, BaoulĂ© District, Eden city, Johnnykro Mangokro, Azito palace, Azito Beach, Eden Beach, African paradise, N’zimakro ….
The islands are hardly populated and have no telephones lines, no electricity or paved roads. Most of the surface is covered by coconut plantations. People have installed straw huts but you also find luxurious houses of Billionaires. It is often referred to as the local Beverly Hills. Around there the lagoon is warm and smooth which makes the practice of water sports (wakeboarding, water skiing etc.) really enjoyable.
A few hotels can be found on the Islands and are very popular on weekends and public holidays.
