1. Basilique de Notre Dame de la Paix
The Basilique de Notre Dame de la Paix (www.ndpbasilique.org), or the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, in English, is the world’s tallest church. The structure was built in CĂŽte d’Ivoire’s administrative capital, Yamoussoukro in the late 1980s and consecrated by the Pope in 1990.
A visit to the basilica allows you to gaze at 36 hand-blown, stained-glass windows with patterns that change throughout the day.
The structure was designed by Pierre Fakhoury, an Ivorian citizen of Lebanese descent, and inspired by St. Paul’s Cathedral in Rome.
2. Le Palais Présidentiel & Le Lac Aux Caïmans Sacrés
Located at the entrance of the presidential palace, the lake houses caimans which are considered to be sacred. The feeding of the caimans is one of the tourist attractions of Yamoussoukro. There are over 200 caimans and only a few crocodiles and alligators in the lake.

3. Fondation Felix Houphouët-Boigny Pour La Paix
Founded on 10 November 1973, the Foundation Felix Houphouet-Boigny has since become the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Foundation for the Search for Peace. The Foundation works under the aegis of UNESCO to achieve its objectives and missions in the service of peace.

4. Grande Mosquée De La Paix
La grande mosquée together with la Basilique Notre Dame is one of the architectural jewels that is the pride of the political capital of the Ivory Coast. Built by President Houphouët Boigny, this mosque with traditional architecture is one of the most visited places of worship in the country.

5. Le Barrage De Kossou
Le Barrage de Kossou is an artificial reservoir designed to regulate the flow of the Bandama river, and more particularly to produce electricity.

6. RĂ©serve de Faune d’AbokouamĂ©kro
An archaeological wonder not to be missed during your stay in Cote dâivoire. The friendly town of Ahouakro, adjacent to the site of megalithic monuments is located north of the sub-prefecture of TiassalĂ©. It is 145 km on the route of Abidjan-Yamoussoukro at the north exit of Singrobo. This site covers an area of 120 hectares and is dominated by vegetation that is a characteristic of forest-savanna edge (Guinean savannah plots dominated by palmyra palms, pockets of forests, etc.). The Ahouakro Archaeological Park is located within a massive megaliths made of magmatic (Methanoic) mainly composed of oligoclase, quartz, hornblende and green biotite.
